Where You Can Serve
Volunteer support is needed each week of summer to provide a great camp experience. Choose the area that fits your skills and interests.
Cabin Counselor
Live in a cabin with campers for the week. Lead devotions, manage daily routines, and be the trusted adult in the room. The most hands-on role at camp.
Food Service
Help our hospitality team prepare and serve homemade meals. Early mornings, good conversations, and the satisfaction of feeding 100+ people three times a day.
Program Support
Assist with activities, crafts, games, and evening programs. Bring your energy and creativity to the parts of camp that campers remember most.
Nursing / Health Care
Staff the health center and manage camper medications, minor injuries, and wellness checks throughout the week.
Requires: RN, LPN, or EMT certification
Site & Facilities
Help with grounds maintenance, building repairs, setup, and teardown. Ideal for people who like working with their hands and seeing immediate results.
How to Volunteer
Plan to apply at least 6 weeks before the week you'd like to serve. All volunteers complete the same background checks as paid staff.

Apply Online
Complete the volunteer application and provide three references. Training resources are sent after your application is processed.

Complete Clearances
Submit the required background checks and training before your service week.

Required Clearances
Gretna Glen is ACA-accredited and Safe Sanctuary compliant. Every volunteer is required to complete these checks and provide a minimum of 2 references to keep campers safe.
PA State Police Criminal Record Check
Must be within the past year
PA Child Abuse History Clearance
Valid for 5 years
FBI Criminal History Record Check (fingerprinting)
Required if you have lived outside PA in the last 10 years
Voluntary Disclosure Statement
Completed annually
Ministry Safe Online Training
Approximately 2 hours, completed every other year

Seasonal Weekend Staff
Not available for a full summer week? Gretna Glen hires hourly weekend staff as needed throughout the year to support retreat groups, school visits, corporate events, and more.
These are paid, part-time positions with flexible scheduling. A good fit if you live nearby and want to stay connected to camp outside of summer.
