PROGRAMS

What We Offer

Choose from a wide range of guided, hands-on activities. Every session is led by trained staff and tailored to your group's age and goals.

Pond & Aquatic Studies

Explore freshwater ecosystems up close. Students collect and identify aquatic organisms, study water quality, and learn about the life cycles happening just beneath the surface.

Guided Nature Hikes

Trek through wooded trails while identifying native plants, animal tracks, and geological features. Hikes are adapted to your group's age and ability level.

Outdoor Living Skills

Fire building, shelter construction, knot tying, and compass navigation. Students learn practical skills that build confidence and self-reliance in the outdoors.

Nature Crafts

Create art using natural materials gathered on-site. Projects connect students to the environment through creative, sensory-rich experiences.

Team-Building Adventures

Group challenges that require communication, trust, and collaboration. Students solve problems together on low ropes elements and initiative games.

Animal Studies

Observe and learn about the wildlife and domestic animals at Gretna Glen. Tracks, habitats, food chains, and animal behavior come to life in the field.

Boating & Archery

Paddle across the pond or take aim at the archery range. Both activities are staff-supervised and teach focus, coordination, and water safety fundamentals.

Pioneer Living

Step back in time and experience life without modern conveniences. Candle making, butter churning, and other hands-on activities connect students to history.

S.T.E.M. Activities

Science, technology, engineering, and math in the great outdoors. Activities include bridge building, nature-based experiments, and environmental data collection.

Outdoor Cooking

Learn to prepare simple meals over an open fire. Students practice fire safety, measurement, teamwork, and patience while cooking together.
