Celebrating Christ in the Latino Rhythm
Latino Camp is a week dedicated to the spirituality, culture, and identity of every camper who walks through the gate. This program celebrates Latino heritage through food, music, traditions, and faith, all within the full Gretna Glen camp experience. It's a place where culture isn't just acknowledged. It's the heartbeat of the week.
This camp is open to children and youth of all backgrounds who want to experience and celebrate Latino culture together. Whether campers come from a Latino family or simply want to learn and participate, everyone is welcome. The week is built on the belief that sharing culture creates understanding, and that unity in Christ crosses every boundary.
Culture, Community, and Camp All Week Long
A week that celebrates heritage, builds friendships, and delivers the full Gretna Glen experience.
Latino Heritage and Traditions
From authentic food and music to cultural traditions and storytelling, every day is shaped by the richness of Latino culture. Campers experience heritage in a way that is joyful, participatory, and personal.
Classic Camp Activities
Swimming, boating, fishing, archery, hiking, campfires, sports, games, crafts, and nature. The cultural celebration adds a layer of meaning, but the full camp experience is always part of the week.
All Ages, One Community
With campers ages 9 to 18, Latino Camp brings together a wider age range than most programs. Older and younger campers learn from each other, creating a family-style community where everyone has a role.
Spirituality and Faith
Worship, Bible Discovery, and daily reflection are woven into the cultural rhythm of the week. Campers explore faith through the lens of community, heritage, and shared identity in Christ.
A Week Built on Culture and Unity
Latino Camp is not just for Latino campers. It's for anyone who wants to celebrate, learn, and grow alongside a community that values heritage and faith in equal measure. Campers from all cultural backgrounds are welcome, and the week is designed so that everyone can participate fully, whether they're deeply connected to Latino culture or experiencing it for the first time.
The wide age range (9-18) is intentional. Older campers model leadership and mentorship while younger campers bring energy and curiosity. The result is a camp community that feels more like a family reunion than a week-long program, held together by shared meals, shared songs, and shared faith.
WHERE YOU'LL STAY
Campers stay in traditional cabins on Gretna Glen's main campus. Cabins have bunk beds, a changing area, and access to a modern shower house built in 2018. A counselor is assigned to every cabin.
This is a mainsite program, so campers eat meals in the Dining Hall and have access to all of Gretna Glen's main campus facilities throughout the week.
WHAT PARENTS SHOULD KNOW
Latino Camp runs Sunday through Friday. Please note the Friday pick-up time is 2-3 PM, earlier than most programs, ahead of the July 4th weekend.
The program is bilingual and welcoming to campers of all language backgrounds. Staff are trained for the full age range (9-18) and the camp is ACA-accredited, meeting over 300 health, safety, and quality standards.
